. Entertain - Gaining the attention of the audiences so that they relax and enjoy the activity I.E To just make the audience happy (Listening to a specific genre of music to relax, Gaming such as FPS - Offers escapism into another world, Football matches- offers escapism into a community.)
. Educate / Inform - Providing facts about a topic or answering a questions (BBC Bitesize, BBC News - Provides an informative sense about what is going on around the world directly in the UK mainly, Documentary about wild life - providing escapism)
. Promote - Raising the awareness of a product in potential customers. Trying to increase the popularity of it and persuade customers to engage or purchase it
(Advertisement e.g Nike, youtube etc to seek potential buyers for the brand, Sponsorships, Crowd funding, Word of mouth IE Below the line marketing)
The importance of good planning (PRE PRODUCTION)
Its more expensive to correct a mistake further down so its better to just do it before
e.g recording with wrong equipment means having to redo and pay for everything again.
Development checklist:
. The script speaks to the right audience
. The script is poised and approved
. The budget meets the projects needs
. The script has been storyboarded (Storyboard is like having a comic strip planned out)
Logistics Checklist:
. Make sure the talent is in place
. Crew: Make sure all positions are filled and aware of their schedule
. All equipment is in place
. Shot list is available
The Call Sheet (Extreme timetable):
. Anyone can look at the call sheet and know what time and where they are meant to be because it costs money to do so it has to have a set time.
Have a Backup Plan (Contingency):
. For example if the client isn't sure if they want a pink vest of blue vest then bring both

. Gear ready and in place
. Previsualisation with key members is done
. Game plan is set
. Lockdown the location (Secured and the area can't be used by others e.g shut down a road for filming)
. Lights camera and audio are ready
. Available snacks for everyone
